Car Blanket

My son would play for hours with his Hot Wheels and Tonka cars.  Lining them up all over the living room.  So I made him a car blanket and then he had hours of fun moving them along the roads.  Well that was 2o years ago.  So when my great nephew came along I searched high and low for the material to make him a car blanket as he loves playing with cars too!  I decided to make Kane's a quillow so he could take it with him everywhere, adding a zipper pocket to hold his cars in.  Here is the out come.

4th of July fun

The Flag is a variety show which strives to promote patriotism, honor those who are and have served in the military, and highlights the fact that this nation was founded on godly principles by godly men. With the backdrop of a gigantic American flag filled with the CT choir, reenactments of various military scenes are portrayed, favorite TV shows and movies engage the crowd, and songs of faith and hope bring the event to a climax. A spectacular fireworks display punctuates the evening.

A beautiful display of fireworks behind the lighted singing flag ends the evening.

This is how we spend our July 4th! (or 1st or 2nd as it runs 3 days)

This year was special as all three of my kids and my daughter-in-law took the day off to spend some family time together.

My beautiful daughter Cheyenne.  She is heading off to play water polo in college next month.  I will miss her keeping me laughing!!  Yes that is an extra large marshmallow she is stuffing in her mouth!!

The family always enjoys the music as they make many of the songs interactive.  This was the swing!

No one enjoys the Singing Flag more than my energetic daughter Kestrel, who gets up and dances to every song LOL

My niece Charlotte, in the middle, loves to play around with hair styles.  We spent the day in SF last weekend and they had a "Rosie the riveter WW2" in the 40's, sign you could take your picture in.  This inspired her to have a little fun on the 4th of July and style her and her cousin's hair for the Singing Flag.  Her hard work paid off with lots of compliments!

Our last high school dance, prom, ball

8 high school proms/balls and many dances later this was our last.  For all the proms/balls and dances we searched out bargain dresses. Learning how to find dresses for under $50 was easy.  Sharing many of those dresses with others in need of one was easy too. Having a relative work at The Men's Wharehouse made it for our son too. But, when it came to the girls final dance we let them pick out the dress of their dreams.  They felt like princesses and enjoyed every minute of the experience!  Bitter sweet of mom but I am so proud of all three of my kids.

Birthdays, Adoptions and Graduations!

This is quite the year in our household.  My beautiful daughter Cheyenne turned 19 yesterday.  She is the baby of the family.  She likes to talk and be in the water.  She is an avid water polo player and is working towards finding a college to play at.  We are so proud of her accomplishments.

Our two daughter were adopted and moved into our home 15 years ago.  The adoption took 2 years to finalize.  God certainly blessed our family with Kestrel and Cheyenne.  They are both seniors this year.  Cheyenne will graduate from high school and Kestrel from college.  We are so proud of them both.

Kestrel and Cheyenne both have different personalities but have a special sister bond.  I love there energy and silly ways. This photo shoot was done by Stephen Woo Photography.  They had so much fun expressing themselves.

In momma's arms after taking pics how sweet.

I

I am not a professional photographer by any means but I love to take pictures of family and friends as a hobby.  This is my daughter in-law's cousin.  I wasn't pleased with my work on these as I have done better.  I think she needs a re-shoot :)  I have not done any photo shop actions on them yet, we will see if that improves them.

Diva Apron

I made this apron for my daughter in-law for Christmas.  It is fully reversible.  I am ready to make more!!  I didn't intend it to be fully reversible but the material was too cute so I modified it to be reversible.

Family

This was taken at Dillion Beach on the coast of Northern California.  We don't get the chance to spend a whole day together as a family especially now that the kids are adults and very busy.  My son got married and we spent a day at the beach with his wife's family.  This is my daughters and husband playing football.  The girls were trying to keep the ball away from their dad!
